Remember that campaign promise from Obama? “We are going to fundamentally change America,” Obama said.
That promise is one of the few he has kept and boy, what a terrible price our country and ultimately all Americans are paying for him keeping that pledge.
Obama, with the imposition of Obamacare and most recently cheering while sycophant Nev. Sen. Harry Reid invoked the so-called nuclear option in the Senate thus installed a tyranny of the majority. The voice of the minority, in this case, Republicans and Independents, has been stifled if not silenced. He has changed America from a Democratic Republic into a tyranny – a dictatorship.
The people have effectively lost their voice in government
In the movie “The Patriot,” Mel Gibson’s character, Jonathan Martin said, “Why should I agree to swap one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away?”
Good question because we now have thousands of tyrants in the form of petty bureaucrats and politicians and one big tyrant who is currently occupying the White House.
What is a tyrant? What is tyranny? A tyrant is a sovereign or other ruler who uses power oppressively or unjustly, according to dictionary.com. A tyrant is someone who rules by causing suffering to the people and land they preside over. They care only about themselves and how to attain more power and wealth, usually through exploitation of the region’s resources and the detriment of its population. I’m sorry all you Democrats, but that describes Obama and his loyal inner-circle of Democrat followers to a “T.”
Reid and his fellow tyrants complain that the Republican minority are obstructionists and are keeping the Democrats from having their way. Well, that is why our Founding Fathers instituted three separate but supposedly equal branches in the Federal system. They wanted the three branches to oppose each other in order to PREVENT tyranny of the majority.
We fought a revolutionary war against England to eliminate the tyranny of King George III. By changing the senate rule supposedly to limit or stop the filibuster, however they made it possible for a simple majority to rule, thus instituting the tyranny of the majority. They can now change the rules, even the law, with 51 votes, totally shutting off any protests from the House of Representatives – the people’s voice.
Equally important it allows the Democrat majority to appoint judges to federal district courts. Not the Supreme Court, but the Federal bench in Washington, D.C. This is the court that literally decides what cases the Supreme Court will hear. Thus, legal challenges to Obamacare and other legislative decisions of the majority will be buffered from judicial review. The nuclear option now allows even more and more dangerous judicial tyranny.
As I suspected would happen, the attention of the media has been shifted to the horrible “deal” we made with Iran. Sec. of State John Kerry is making the rounds bragging about the deal even as our allies, especially Israel, are cringing in fear that Iran will develop a nuclear weapon within months. Remember North Korea and all the deals we made with them? Within months of the deal North Korea detonated several nukes.
In February 2012, North Korea announced that it would suspend uranium enrichment at the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center and not conduct any further tests of nuclear weapons while productive negotiations involving the United States continue. This agreement included a moratorium on long-range missiles tests. Additionally, North Korea agreed to allow IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) inspectors to monitor operations at Yongbyon. The United States reaffirmed that it had no hostile intent toward the DPRK and was prepared to improve bilateral relationships, and agreed to ship humanitarian food aid to North Korea. The United States called the move “important, if limited,” but said it would proceed cautiously and that talks would resume only after North Korea made steps toward fulfilling its promise. However, after North Korea conducted a long-range missile test in April 2012, the United States decided not to proceed with the food aid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korea_and_weapons_of_mass_destruction
The United States has long claimed it will not negotiate with terrorists. Well, guess what, we just did and once again we lost the negotiations. And in so doing we have focused our attention on terrorists half a world away and lost sight of the terrorists in Washington. Well done, Obama.
